A success

We ended up with close to $800 in pampered chef sales and $56 total for the raffle. The raffle was given to us so we ended up with right at $215 for our fundraiser. We are excited as we keep plugging along to get the funds for our adoption. Tim starts EKU Wednesday so by the second week of September we should have all of our documents done and on their way to Texas. It is so crazy that we are so close to being ready for birth parents. I have a deep feeling that our child has been conceived, and it is so crazy that we will meet them in a short while. The adoption roller coaster is one full of emotions. I pray that this one remains smooth with little or no bumps!!!

Today we helped Nanna with a yard sale. I had some stuff donated from church to sale and my MIL is giving us the money that she makes. So far at the end of today we are getting $100. She is having it tomorrow as well so hopefully we will get $100 more from that.

The other day I was an emotional wreck because of trying to fund this adoption. Well when I finally realized that I can't do anything on my own things get so much better. Philippians 4:13 is such an amazing verse to live by: "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." We can't do anything on our own so no matter what we are struggling with give it to the Lord and He will see you through!!! Have a great and safe Labor Day!!!

Pampered Chef Fundraiser

We are nearing the end of our pampered chef fundraiser. If any of you need or want anything this is the time to do it. We get 20% of the sales. Go to www.pamperedchef.biz/cynthiafarley Scroll down and click on order items, type in Kelli Pike, enter and then click on Pike Family Adoption. Then you are good to go with the shopping. We are almost done with all the paperwork so that means we are getting ready to make a $13,000 payment and well we don't have that much. We are putting this in God's hands as He can do anything!!! Thanks to anyone who orders and it is our prayer that you are blessed through this. Mucho Gracias!!!

Lets try for pictures again

Blogger would not let me post pics. Sorry, I will try later.

Kaleb's Fiesta

Before the Kaleb we were lucky to get Kaleb to take a siesta. He loves balloons so he went crazy when I got home with them and 2 got popped immediately. Luckily I got several. It turned out to be a great day and Kaleb had a blast. I think that next year we may have a friends party and a family party. There are just so many people that love this child, but our house is a bit small to accommodate everyone. The cake turned out great as well. I was very pleased with everything. Kaleb as usual wanted to play instead of opening gifts. That is a good thing so I am not complaining.
On another note, the profile is on its way to Texas. Woo Hoo!!!! I am sooo excited. Now we are just waiting on a few documents and then we will be put into circuit for birth mothers/parents to choose us. Kaleb still says he wants a sissy. I feel like we will have a girl but only the Lord knows. This is so exciting. Enjoy the pictures and have a great Monday!!

Feliz Cumpleanos Kaleb

I can't believe that my little baby is 2. Time has gone by way too fast. Last night I was lying in bed wondering if Magdalena thought about him and his 2nd birthday. He has 2 brothers that she kept and I wonder if they remember him at all. Kaleb has been such a blessing and it is our prayer that the Lord will bless him throughout his life. I had a doctor's appt. today so the morning and part of the afternoon was taken up with that. We did go to lunch with Daddy and then went to Toys R Us where he picked out a musical Wiggles book. Tonight we are having chicken strips, green beans, and kraft mac and cheese which are a few of his favorites. I am excited about his party and I hope that he enjoys it. There will be plenty of pics to enjoy from that. I have just a few more pages to do and our profile will be complete. Thank the good Lord!!!!! These are a couple of pics from his 1st birthday. I can't belive a year has gone by!!!!

Fiesta and Fundraising

Well I am preparing for Kaleb's 2nd birthday fiesta which is this Sat. I was excited to find a fiesta birthday sign in spanish at Garden Ridge. I got lots of little things to put on the table along with some sombrero confetti. I decided against the goody bag and am giving Wiggles coloring books. They were only $1 each and they come with crayons. This is way cheaper and we are on a major budget.
Speaking of budget, our next fundraiser is under way. We are doing a pampered chef fundraiser and I think that it will do really well. We get 20% of the proceeds. Basically you get as many people as you can to take up orders, so the more the merrier. There have been people that have turned in $7000 orders. I am pumped and I hope that it does really well. There is close to $2000 in our adoption fund so we have a ways to go, but it is definitely a good start.
These are some early on baby pics of Kaleb enjoy!!

Where does time go??!!

I can't believe that our precious bambino will be 2 in in a week. It feels like just yesterday that we were holding him for the first time. It was almost as if time stood still in Guatemala and then went full speed ahead once we got off the plane in Lexington. I have always heard that time goes by so much faster once you have children and I truly believe it. I feel like I could be one of those parents that has 6 kids b/c I love being a mom and I love them being little. There is just nothing like it when Kaleb looks at me and says I wuv you. It absolutely melts my heart!!! Kaleb is my sunshine and I so blessed to be his mother. Adoption is such an amazing thing b/c we are handpicked to be mothers. We are all special!!!

Fundraiser #1

Well the yardsale was a success. We ended the day with almost $1,000. There was a truckload of stuff left that we took to the one of the shelters. I would have kept it for another sale, but much of the stuff had been through 3 yardsales. If it didn't sale the first, second, and third time then it is not going to sale the 4th time. People were kind, but there were still the ones that wanted everything for nothing. I felt like saying dude we are trying to fund an adoption, not just make a little extra spending cash. There were some people in our church that forgot to bring their stuff so we may have another yardsale in October. Hopefully it will be much cooler, since we all roasted yesterday. Our next fundaiser possiblities are Dinner/Movie night, and Pampered Chef. There is a grant that we are going to apply for as well. This weeks agenda includes buying party supplies for Kaleb's 2nd b-day, getting our fingerprints done, and working on our profile. It is exciting knowing that we are so close to being done with the paperwork. Then the waiting will begin!!!
